Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine the ability of students to read the al-Qur’an without using the talaqqi method and those using the talaqqi method, as well as the effect of applying the talaqqi method to the ability to read the al-Quran in class II SD Inpres Hombes Armed Desa Jenemadinging Kab. Gowa. This type of research is quantitative with pre-experimental research methods. The population in this study was 53 students in class II and the samples taken were 26 students. Data collection techniques using test sheets. Analysis of the data used is a simple regression analysis technique. The results showed: 1) the average score of the students' reading ability of the Qur'an without using the talaqqi method was 63.62 in the medium category, 2) the results of the students' reading ability of the Qur'an using the talaqqi method 77 .77 with high category. There is an effect of applying the talaqqi method on the students' ability to read the Qur'an. This can be seen in the results of the t-test analysis showing Thit = 2.833 with Ttable = 2.228. The significance value obtained is smaller than (0.016 > 0.05), so it can be concluded that the talaqqi method affects the students' ability to read the Qur'an. The implication of this research is that the teaching staff of SD Inpres Hombes Armed, Jenemadinging Village, Kab. Gowa, is able to apply various learning methods in order to improve the ability to read the Qur'an, add references for improvement and improve the quality of learning.
