ABSTRACT

This paper is the result of research that discusses the effect of the use of thematic-based picture modules on the ability to understand the science of fourth grade students of SDI No. 232 Ballabarrisi, Jeneponto Regency. This study has the objectives of: 1) Knowing the students' ability to understand science before using the thematic-based picture modules in class IV SDI No. 232 Ballabarrisi Jeneponto Regency, 2) Knowing the students' ability to understand science after using thematic-based picture modules in grade IV SDI No. 232 Ballabarrisi Jeneponto Regency, and 3) Knowing the magnitude of the influence of the use of thematic-based picture modules on the ability of students to understand science in grade IV SDI No. 232 Ballabarrisi, Jeneponto Regency. The type of research used is an experiment with a total population of 20 grade IV students in SDI No. 232 Ballabarrisi, Jeneponto Regency. The research sample was taken using the saturated sample technique, ie the entire population was made up of 20 students. Based on the results of the Gain normality test, it can be seen that the level of effectiveness is in the medium category with a percentage of 65% with a total of 13 students. So it can be concluded that the use of thematic-based pictorial modules has an effect on increasing the ability to understand science for grade IV SDI No. 232 Ballabarrisi, Jeneponto Regency.

ABSTRAK

Tulisan ini merupakan hasil penelitian yang membahas tentang pengaruh penggunaan modul bergambar berbasis tematik terhadap kemampuan pemahaman IPA  peserta didik kelas IV SDI No. 232 Ballabarrisi Kabupaten Jeneponto. Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk: 1) Mengetahui kemampuan pemahaman IPA peserta didik sebelum menggunakan modul bergambar berbasis tematik di kelas IV SDI No. 232 Ballabarrisi Kabupaten Jeneponto, 2) Mengetahui kemampuan pemahaman IPA Peserta didik setelah menggunakan modul bergambar berbasis tematik di kelas IV SDI No. 232 Ballabarrisi Kabupaten Jeneponto, dan 3) Mengetahui besarnya pengaruh penggunaan modul bergambar berbasis tematik terhadap kemampuan pemahaman IPA peserta didik di kelas IV SDI No. 232 Ballabarrisi Kabupaten Jeneponto. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan ialah eksperimen dengan jumlah populasinya adalah seluruh peserta didik kelas IV yang berjumlah 20 di SDI No. 232 Ballabarrisi Kabupaten Jeneponto. Sampel penelitian diambil dengan menggunakan teknik sampel jenuh yiatu semua jumlah populasi dijadikan yang berjumlah 20 orang peserta didik.  Berdasarkan hasil uji normalitas Gain, dapat diperoleh tingkat keefetivan yang berada pada kategori sedang dengan persentase sebanyak 65% dengan jumlah peserta didik sebanyak 13 orang. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan modul bergambar berbasis tematik memberikan pengaruh terhadap peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman IPA peserta didik kelas IV SDI No. 232 Ballabarrisi Kabupaten Jeneponto.
