The influence of information search-based learning methods on PAI learning outcomes

Abstract


This experimental study aimed to assess the impact of the information search learning method on the learning outcomes of fifth-grade students in Islamic religious education at Bani Rauf Integrated SDS in Gowa district. The research involved two classes, with class Va (experimental) comprising 19 students and class Vb (control) comprising 23 students. The study used tests and documentation to collect data, which were then analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. Before implementing the information search learning method, the student’s average score in Islamic religious education was 51. However, after applying the method, their average score significantly increased to 88. A comparative analysis revealed a positive influence on the student’s learning outcomes, indicating the effectiveness of the information search learning method. The results of the hypothesis testing using inferential statistics supported this finding, with a significant difference observed between the control and experimental classes. Based on these findings, it is recommended that elementary schools consider adopting information-search learning methods to improve the effectiveness and enjoyment of learning. Such methods can potentially enhance students' learning outcomes in Islamic religious education, benefiting educators, students, and the overall learning environment by fostering knowledge acquisition and understanding.
