Abstract
This paper presents the results of research on literature reading and religious orientation of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) students at Postgraduate UIN Alauddin Makassar. This study concludes that the reading interest of PAI students at the Postgraduate UIN Alauddin Makassar seen from the reading materials used is relatively low due to the lack of reading references used in the teaching and learning process in the classroom. In addition, the religious orientation of the PAI students is 58.6% or 16 students who are intrinsically oriented, where they uphold purity of heart, vision, understanding and commitment that gives meaning to religious rituals performed and 48.4% or 12 students who are extrinsically oriented, they view that religion is used not to achieve God's blessings, but so that other people respect themselves.
