Abstract
This study aimed to determine the parenting used by parents in raising children. This research includes qualitative research using a phenomenological approach. The results show that at the Army Strategic Command of Sudirman Village, Tanralili District, Maros Kompi C, which the researchers studied were 3 families, not all military families used authoritarian parenting. This was measured by using seven aspects of parenting, namely communication., discipline, relationship attachment, problem-solving, emotional management, use of free time, and monitoring of children. Parents apply different forms of parenting in educating their children. Although many people think that children who grow up and grow up in military families are educated hard and disciplined, they come back from their parents how the form of parenting is applied in their families because not all military families are educated hard (authoritarian).
