Collaborative Language Learning: The Penta Helix Model in Enhancing Student Engagement and Motivation

Abstract


Collaborative language learning is an important aspect of increasing student engagement and motivation in the classroom. The Penta helix model, which integrates the efforts of government, academia, the private sector, the community, and the media, offers a unique approach to fostering a collaborative learning environment. By leveraging the strengths of each stakeholder, the Penta helix model can create a synergistic effect that motivates students to learn and engage with materials more effectively. Based on this explanation, the researcher formulated the problem: has there been collaboration in language learning in government, academia, private sector, community, and media to enhance student motivation? The answer the formulation of the problem, the researcher used a qualitative approach with document analysis techniques. This research examined various documents, including books, research articles, and curriculum documents. The result of this study is that by integrating these stakeholders, the Penta helix model can create a comprehensive and effective approach to language teaching that meets the needs of learners and society, ultimately increasing student engagement and motivation.
