Abstract

The success of the Islamic Revolution in Iran (1979) which was inspired by the doctrines of Shia, in many ways had exhaled the wind of change in world politics. Not only changes in Iranian countries themselves, but the revolution also gave a lot of influence on countries in the Arabian and Asian Peninsula including Indonesia. The appearance of Shia is very closely related to political issues. After the death of the Prophet. The Shiites rejected the leadership of Abu Bakr, Umar bin Khattab, and Uthman bin Affan. According to them, Ali bin Abi Talib is the official caliph whose authority is captured by the previous leader. This research is technically library research that relies on written data sources. Data were obtained by examining information relating to Shi'a, which includes primers, namely books that review Shi'a in the domain of history, teachings, and its development; and secondary data obtained from internet media. Data analysis is carried out qualitatively.
